what can i say. they've done the utmost stupid thing ever.

why did i stay on in pj aft first 3 months? i cld've gone to ac. but i didnt cuz going to ac wld mean that everything wld've been similar to mg. i wanted a change. and pj was the change. tho going to ac also meant that i'd most likely get into arts which i didnt want but it's not the point. the point is that i stayed in pj and despite touch not being my cca during 1st 3 months, i love the touch team alot. we've gone thru ups and down together. and i realise that if i had gone to ac, or another other jc for that matter, i wldnt have met the wonderful ppl in touch.

as of last wed, it is confirmed that there wld not longer be any touch rugby or rugby team in pj, along with other sports ccas. it really is the most foolish thing ever heard of. the ccas that were cut were those they claimed to be 'not performing'. so does that mean not performing=no use to pj? before the ccas can even perform the sch cuts them off as a cca. of cuz like this cant perform lah. also, those ccas cut never had the support from the sch. esp youknowwho.

rugby and touch has never performedin previous years but ever since the new j1 batch has come in there has been improvment. and juz when the ruggers were THIS CLOSE to being plate champs(3rd place for those who dunno), u cut them off?! i think this is the best year for rugby in pj's history. they've beaten schs that once thrashed pj. the girls too. altho it might seem like what we win is nothing, it really means alot to us.

there was a dialogue session on thurs. it was actually quite useless cuz youknowwho was talking quite alot so the dialogue session become almost one-sided. anyway, during the times that the students had the chance to speak, they gave some great points but were immediately put down by youknowwho.

here's what i think(im para-phrasing/summarising what was said):

1. example of a sec4 student playing badminton for 10years. he wants to have a change, learn new skils. if u want students coming into pj to learn new things, why close down ccas? arent you limiting the choices these sec4 students have? and there are students who want to stick with the cca that they've had since young. what will happen if they come here and find out that there is no such cca in pj and are, in this sense, forced into choosing a cca that they do not want to join? if word gets out that pj doesnt have such and such cca, and word will definitely get out, isnt it more of a disincentive for students to come to pj?

2. by closing down ccas the students grades wont be poor. can u actually guarantee that the grades the j1s get will improve? without ccas, students can go out and play and not study. doesnt it come to the same thing? and are u sure that it's only the students in sport ccas that have poor grades? im sure that there are students in the performing arts grp that have poor grades too. since u are so concerned abt students' grades then why dont u juz close down all the ccas.

3. teams go into competition with the mentality that they are they are gonna lose so sure lose. or they join competition to gain exposure. u all are unprepared for competitions, that's why u lose. we join competitions to win and if we lose, we dont say "aiya, lose alr. give up lah." no. we dont. instead, by losing we gain the experience of playing under pressure, of playing with other schs and we learn our mistakes and we correct our mistakes. this is what exposure is to us. mebbe ur exposure is defined as for fun, for the sake of showing that pjc exists. only when we lose do we say "it's ok, we've made mistakes, let fix them. now we know what our opponents do. we know their weak points so lets take advantage of that." we dont say "hey let's join this competition so that we can gain exposure." and in a war(one of the examples used) there will always be one victorious side and one side that loses. u cant expect pj to win everything. we're such a young sch competing against schs that have many many years of history and the ccas are so established. do u think that we do not train for matches? we put our heart and soul into every training we have. do u not see that we want to win so badly but the odds are against us? do u not see that our blood and sweat is put into every single game we play? i guess not. cuz at every competition, there is no one to support us. at every competition, we are on our own.

4. previous batch promised many things. that they'll perform in studies and in competitions. (this was for the canoeists) so? u cant compare the past with the present. past is past. now is the present. and there are many students and canoeing who have good results. so u cant say that results is a problem.

5. the sch has been wanting to close down ccas for a long time and now that PEARLS is no longer impt for uni admission the ccas are gonna be closed down. if this has been the plan all along, it's the responsibility of the sch to tell every batch of students that come in that such a plan is in the running. at least students wld be prepared. also, why in the middle of the j1s time in pj? cant the sch let them continue what they've been doing for the past year? if implementing this new cca thing is that impt, the sch can implement it for next year's j1 and let this year's j1s compete next year's competitions they've been training so hard for this past year. im sure that every sports team in pj is always ready for the competitions that they sign up for. so dont say that we are never ready for competitions. how wld the sch know anyway? they never go down to support.

6. for example i wldnt join a mrs universe contest. of course. no one wld join a competition that they knew they were DEFINITELY gonna lose in.

7. ur teacher in charge decide not to have a coach so is not the sch's problem. do u wanna know why there is no coach? it's becuz the sch cut the damn budget such that we cant afford a coach. and if we want a coach we have to pay with OUR OWN MONEY. it's not like we're asking the sch to pay when we join competitions. we're alr paying it ourselves. if the sch values winning so much, then please dont provide us with a budget that is enough for a coach. a coach is the only thing we're asking for.

not all that was said cuz i cant rmb all of it. most of the time was frustrated with the answers given. wait, not answers. never once was any question posed by students answered properly. only weird examples given that werent even related to the questions. so imagine all of our frustrations. in the end the dialogue session was quite useless. didnt stay cuz the girls had training and it was pointless to stay.

i really wish one of those candles the girls put on the field for sheryl and charlotte's birthday had burned the field. it's seriously pointless to have a field there now.

the ccas cut. canoeing. odac. volleyball. badminton. hockey(guys). basketball(girls). soccer. rugby. touch rugby. leaving us with. netball. hockey(girls). basketball(guys). tennis(?!!?!?). and another i cant rmb. (if i rmb correctly.)

sigh. and to think that pj was student-oriented. i guess not that student-oriented to give the students what they want. i guess thier reputation will slowly go down the drain.

there is no reason in coming back next yr. pj will juz be an empty shell. no more sounds of the sports ppl going thru their trainings. only the sound of the band practising along the corridors. the choir singing somewhere in sch. the music from the dance room. the co practising somewhere..

oh. if any j1 finds this, the email shown to u all during assembly on fri is, in reality, not what they said it was. the actual one is in fact against the decision made by the sch. they juz showed u the parts where the writer starts of his point. (he wrote it in a manner such that it was good point followed by bad point. so the sch showed only the good point.) trust me. i know the writer.

i really dont care if they find this. i've graduated anyway.
